Is Revelation A Sealed Book?

The idea that the book of revelation has been sealed is a major factor why many people today neglect the study of it. Keep reading to find the answer to the question ” Is Revelation a sealed book?”

What are the two principal excuses used to avoid the study of revelation?

“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. ” Isaiah 29:11-12

Answer: The learned says ” It is Sealed” while the unlearned say ” I am not learned”

What is the purpose of a “revelation”?

“How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,” Ephesians 3:3

 Answer: To make known something.

Note:  In the Revelation are portrayed the deep things of God. The very name given to its inspired pages, “the Revelation,” contradicts the statement that this is a sealed book. A revelation is something revealed.

What is the book of revelation making known or revealing?

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” Revelation 1:1

Answer: This book is simply revealing Christ to us!

What was said concerning the book of revelation?

” And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. ” Revelation 22:10

Answer: It was said to seal not this book, so plainly we see that there is nothing sealed about the book of revelation, but it is in fact a book that reveals things to us!

Through what means then does revelation reveal things to God’s Servants?

“…and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” Revelation 1:1″

Signify means- to make signs or tokens; to communicate by signs; to signify by symbols.

Answer: The messages of revelation are revealed to us through signs and symbols. This book is symbolic!

God in his wisdom used symbols that only his servants may understand the many events that will take place in our world and its relation to Christianity. Christ wants us all to study and do those things written in this book; “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. ” Revelation 1:3. A blessing is pronounced upon us when we do such! Let us not listen to others anymore, but as servants of Christ let us all engage in faithful study of the bible including “revelation” which has been revealed to us. Christ wants to teach you! Will you be one of his students?
